Ëmmana Wolfgang (Significado: Emanar em oito realidades distintas) é Beatriz Bernardo Guimarães nascida a 16 de Maio de 1995, em Guimarães, Portugal. Mudou-se para o Porto em 2008, onde desde cedo soube que queria seguir uma profissão artística. Entrou em 2010 para a escola Artística Soares dos Reis, onde ingressou no curso de Audiovisual. Em 2014 teve uma breve passagem pela Escócia onde ingressou no curso de Arte e Filosofia de Dundee. Voltou para Portugal no mesmo ano para frequentar em 2015 a Escola Superior de Artes e Design das Caldas da Rainha, concluindo a licenciatura em Som e Imagem. A sua curta-metragem “Chimera” em 2018 foi apresentada na cinemateca de Lisboa. Criou um projeto com Francisco Bacon chamado de BEABA em 2019, onde daí surgiu uma instalação e exibição de curtas-metragens na Eletricidade Estética nas Caldas da Rainha. Entre 2019 e 2020 foi videografia e editora na empresa Lovely Castle produções. Lançou um EP intitulado “Dark Fuel” em 2022, na consequência do diagnostico da sua doença, Transtorno Esquizoafectivo, que a fez repensar e mudar o rumo do seu trajeto artístico, focando-se assim mais na pintura, a música e a escrita.
Em 2024 lançou o EP “Ethereal EXU” criado a partir de fragmentos de alucinações auditivas, assim como as infinitas pinturas feitas ao longo dos anos que recriam um mundo à parte da rotina quotidiana, onde um eu fragmentado se unifica.
Treinou a inteligência artificial em part-time, de onde retirou ideias para inovar a arte bruta contemporânea e assim perceber a lógica entre o algoritmo e a falta de limites que a expressão de uma doença mental não consegue ser transmutada para um simples algoritmo.
Ingressou no mestrado de Artes Plásticas na FBAUP, mas teve que desistir devido ao transtorno. Em 2025 participou no “Art Local” um projeto que junta artista locais com turistas urbanos. Atualmente tem pinturas expostas na Poetria do Porto, com a parceria da Galeria Fissura. O seu livro de contos “Sem Diálogos” esteve em pré-venda com a editora Mercadora Editorial.
Ëmmana Wolfgang (Meaning: Emanate in eight distinct realities) is Beatriz Bernardo Guimarães, born on May 16, 1995, in Guimarães, Portugal. She moved to Porto in 2008, where she knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue an artistic career. In 2010, she entered the Soares dos Reis Art School, where she enrolled in the Audiovisual course. In 2014, she had a brief stay in Scotland where she enrolled in the Art and Philosophy course in Dundee. She returned to Portugal in the same year to attend the Higher School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha in 2015, completing a degree in Sound and Image. Her short film “Chimera” was presented at the Lisbon Cinematheque in 2018. In 2019, she created a project with Francisco Bacon called BEABA, which resulted in an installation and exhibition of short films at Eletricidade Estética in Caldas da Rainha. Between 2019 and 2020, she worked as a videographer and editor at Lovely Castle Productions. She released an EP titled “Dark Fuel” in 2022, following her diagnosis of Schizoaffective Disorder, which led her to rethink and change the course of her artistic journey, focusing more on painting, music, and writing.
In 2024, she released the EP “Ethereal EXU,” created from fragments of auditory hallucinations, as well as the countless paintings made over the years that recreate a world apart from daily routine, where a fragmented self unifies.
She trained artificial intelligence part-time, from which she drew ideas to innovate contemporary outsider art and thus understand the logic between the algorithm and the lack of limits that the expression of a mental illness cannot be transmuted into a simple algorithm.
She entered the Master’s program in Visual Arts at FBAUP, but had to drop out due to the disorder. In 2025, she participated in “Art Local,” a project that brings together local artists with urban tourists. Currently, she has paintings on display at Poetria do Porto, in partnership with Galeria Fissura. Her book of short stories, “Sem Diálogos” (Without Dialogues), was available for pre-order with the publisher Mercadora Editorial.
